Prospective home buyers in Nebraska, as well as the rest of the country, are looking at foreclosed homes on the market. Nebraska's cities are beginning to offer bus tours that have taken off very quickly. The tours are so popular that there are waiting lists for them. Both first time home buyers and investors are taking these foreclosure tours. They are hoping to get a good deals on these properties.
Vacant homes in California are becoming hangout spots for bored teenagers, a target for thieves and an eyesore. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors agreed to commission a study of the effects of foreclosures on public safety in the county. The county Sheriff's Department and the Office of Legislative Affairs, along with other offices in the county will conduct the study and bring their results back to the county supervisors.
Oregon neighborhoods are plagued with abandoned homes that gradually begin to fall apart as the weeks pass. Some homes have been vandalized, there is trash strewn all around of many of the homes. Foreclosure is not only happening to people who are low income, foreclosures are blind to race and income level. In city of Medford 30 to 40 default notices are going out per week.
