The Florida Home Ownership Promotes the Economy (HOPE) task force has completed a list of recommendations that will help reduce the record number of foreclosures. The task force is asking that loan services and investors be urged to pursue all workout options and dedicate resources to try to make foreclosures as much of a last resort as possible. The group is also proposing a center be established that would provide foreclosure prevention.
Homeowners in Arizona are more and more frequently mailing in their keys instead of their mortgage payment. As housing prices fall and rates on some mortgage loans rise, more homeowners are walking away from their homes. Usually these people can afford their mortgage but don't want to pay on a loan that is more than their home is worth. This growing trend is alarming market watchers.
Lately, in California, some people behind on their mortgage payments are simply setting fire to thier homes. This seems to be the latest symptom of the nations mortgage melt dow. Law enforcemnt officiela snd state agencie snationwide report a jump in home fires in the last year to have been set by owners who could not pay thier debt. The numbers are still small but slowly incresing.
