When you download foreclosure or auction data to your computer, each column has a heading. Below is a list of the columns, or fields, along with a short description, the date the column was added and a longer description of the field.

			The date the Notice of Default was filed. Until the Notice of Default is filed, an auction date cannot be set, and notices can not go into the newspaper or registry.

			The defendant is the Home Owner, the one being foreclosed on.
	def_first		Defendants First Name		Dec 17, 2004
			If the defendants name can be broken into first, middle and last, this is the First Name
	def_middle		Defendants Middle Name		Dec 17, 2004
			If the defendants name can be broken into first, middle and last, this is the Middle Name
	def_last		Defendants Last Name		Dec 17, 2004
			If the defendants name can be broken into first, middle and last, this is the Last Name
	street		Legal Street Address		Jun 1, 2003
			This is the legal street address, as filed with the Notice of Default
	city		Legal Town or City		Jun 1, 2003
			The Legal Town or City is what was filed with the Notice of Default. If the foreclosure is in a specific part of the city (i.e. Roxbury, Centerville, etc…) that will be in Area and the Legal Town or City will be the actual Town or City (Boston, Barnstable, etc…)

			When a foreclosure is located within an area of a City or Town, such as a village, neighborhood, etc… that has it's own legal name (Dorchester, Bradford, etc…) that area name will appear under Area

	plaintiff		Plaintiff (Bank)		Jun 1, 2003
			In order for the foreclosure process to be started, the Plaintiff, or Bank, needs to file a complaint. The Plaintiff is the legal name of the Bank on the mortgage.
